01 / The problem

What needed to change.

AZ Clean cleans sofas, mattresses, rugs, cars and boats in customers' homes. Most customers arrive on a phone and want to know quickly whether the business covers their area and what a job costs.

02 / Constraints

The boundaries of the work.

  • Greek-speaking local customers, mostly on mobile.
  • Quotes depend on what needs cleaning, so the site has to make contact easy rather than list fixed prices.
  • A small business needs a site that is cheap to host and keep running.

03 / Technical decisions

Choices and tradeoffs.

Make calling and sending a photo the main actions, with call and WhatsApp buttons fixed to the bottom on phones.

A photo lets the owner quote accurately, and a phone call is how customers already book.

Alternative considered: A multi-step booking form.

Build a static React and Vite site and serve it from GitHub Pages on the business's own domain.

There is no server to maintain and no hosting fee, and the domain stays the owner's.

Alternative considered: A hosted website builder or a server-rendered CMS.

Write the before-and-after comparison slider from scratch with a native range input underneath.

The range input gives keyboard and screen-reader access without extra code, and the component stays small.

Alternative considered: A third-party slider library.

04 / Verification

What the evidence supports.

The live site, robots.txt, sitemap and structured data were fetched for this page, and the screenshots were taken from the live site on 28 October 2026. The slider's accessibility was checked in source and in the rendered page's controls, not with assistive technology.

The site is live on the business's own domain.

Fetched https://azclean.gr: HTTP 200, served by GitHub Pages.

Live site ↗

Search engines get a sitemap, robots.txt and structured data describing the business and its FAQ.

robots.txt and sitemap.xml return 200, and the home page includes LocalBusiness and FAQPage JSON-LD. Whether Google has indexed or ranks it was not checked.

Live site ↗

The before-and-after photo comparisons work by mouse, touch or keyboard.

The comparison component pairs drag and touch handlers with a labelled range input for keyboard and screen-reader use. The live page has four labelled range controls. Not tested with a screen reader.

05 / Limitations

Where the work stands.

  • The site's review rating and testimonials are the business's own content and were not verified here.
  • No traffic, ranking or enquiry figures are available, so none are claimed.
  • The source repository is private.
